Lost Canyon Gold
ABOUT US
A family mining project, we own approximately 200 beautiful deeded acres consisting of three mining claims, June, July, and gold basin. We purchased the property from the family that patented the land from the U.S. Government early in this century. They had to show the government that they could make a living at mining and they did.
The property is at an altitude of 12,275 feet at the south/west end of Lost Canyon and surrounded by thousands of acres of public land in all directions.
The project site is approximately one mile long and a creek flows the length giving plenty of opportunities for panning,sluicing, high banking and some dredging.
At this altitude the mining season is short. (June through September) That depends on the late spring snows and early fall snows. The recreational prospectors and visitors that come to our mountain every summer are always welcome. Some have done quite well.
The gold that is found runs in size from 400 mesh to 4 ounce nuggets and all in between.
We have sent samples of the nuggets that we have found to laboratories for finess tests. The results prove to be 21 to 22k. or 92% to 94% PURE, a very high grade. They are beautiful and require very little cleaning or polishing to be jewelry ready for pendants, earrings and etc. or for just collectors.
During our summer mining season on the mountain this location is called our Western office. We sell nuggets that are uncleaned from our daily production. What inventories we have left of our cleaned jewelry ready nuggets from the previous season are also available. The jewelry ready nuggets are cleaned in our Eastern office and can be purchased over the internet during the winter months.
