Nancy's Liver Treats
1 lb. pureed chicken livers (I use a food processor)
2 cups corn meal
1 cup unbleached flour
2 carrots
4 cloves of garlic
1 zucinni squash
2 eggs
2 teaspoons of olive oil
fresh parsley
Use your food processor to mince veggies & puree chicken livers..
mix all in a large bowl till like a brownie consistancy.
Grease a large cookie sheet (17x12) and spread evenly.
Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes.
Cut into small squares.
This gives you a soft treat...but if you continue to bake at a low
225, after
you have cut...for about 7 hours..break apart & keep mixing them
up...it
becomes a crunchy treat!
I also added brewers yeast & sea kelp to the above..
For a hard cookie like a milk bone......
1/2 cup milk
1 egg
2 1/2 cups unbleached flour
4 cloves garlic minced
fresh parsley minced
1 large baby food chicken & veggies
6 tablespoons of gravy
Grease a large cookie sheet..you will need several.
using a teaspoon,
Drop small amount just so they don't touch one another.
Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes.
they will be soft...so continue to allow to dry out at a low setting
of 225
till hard....about 3-5 hours..depending how big.
Again I added brewers yeast & sea kelp to the above recipe!
Allow to cool and put in Zip Locks!

Malteenie Mix
Recipe by :Tatiana
Ingredients:
Three (3) chicken thighs with skin on
One (1) cup of rice 1/2 white--1/2 brown--not minute rice--
One (1) pound of ground turkey
Three (3) large cloves of garlic(smashed)
One (1) Zuchinni squash
One (1) summer squash
Two (2) carrots
Three (3) tabelspoons-olive oil
salt and pepper
In a sauce pan-place the 3 chicken thighs--cover with water and simmer
on stove until fully cooked.I add a little bit of salt to the water--you
may have to add more water as it cooks down.
Remove thighs from water and put in covered bowl and refrigerate
Take 2 cups of the reamining water in the same pot(saves washing)
and to this add the 1 cup of rice.
Bring this to a full boil, cover and put on the back of the stove.
Turn off the heat under it, as it will cook itself.
In a large frying pan put olive oil, take the ground turkey and lightly
brown it. Take the 3 garlic cloves and add this to the turkey mix -mix
well--now in a chopper or on a grater chop or grate both squashes and the
2 carrots.Add this to the mix and mix well.
Turn off the heat cover and let sit for about 15 minutes, this will
steam the veggies but still leave them a little crisp.
Get a large bowl and into put the rice(cooked)and on top add the contents
of the frying pan. and again mix well
Now remove chicken thighs from fridge and take off the skin and remove
the bone, (discard these) cut reamaining meat into little pieces and add
to the mix.
I now put it up into containers or plastic bags, each one holding enough
for a one day feeding for five dogs. I give each dog about 3 tablespoons
once a day I usually get enough to last 6 days.
I change the veggies I use often, but I always include the carrots,
brocolli, frozen tiny green peas.,
Tatiana and the "when do we eat?", four.
