Stage Curtains with Swags made in Photo Impact 5
This size of the swags works great for stationary. If you want to use
it as a web page background you need to make the swags slightly larger
and extend the length of your file.
Part One Making Your Swag
Start with a new file 1280 x 800
Fill with the background of your choice.
Go to the Path Drawing Tool...and make sure mode is set at
3D round
Select custom shape
Select Plaque 5..say ok
Create your shape..don't get it too big......
Drag the depth tab almost to the end. This tab is at the top of your
screen..options..border..depth
Click on your image to make it active
Go to Edit and Rotate and Flip and Flip Vertically
Click Path Edit Tool
Click Toggle Button. Located right under the File Edit area.
Click shape to make piece active and in path mode
Drag the two lower points to upper points creating more of a swag look.
It should now look like a 1/2 moon shape when you are done.
Reclick Toggle button to get out of mode.
Now fill with texture of your choice.
Go to Object..convert Object Type from Path to Image
Now Go to Web...button designer..any shape..
I selected the 1st one on the bottom row on the right facing you. This
gives you a nice darker edge along the bottom of your swag. Click ok.
NOTE : If you are using PI 6 it is still the last button in the button
designer....assuming you have installed the patch....otherwise go to your
easy palette ...button gallery....and select A30
Click on swag making it active. Right click..select shadow.....
Click ok.
Click on swag and right click..select duplicate
Click on swag and click on Object...Arrange...send to back......
Slide it behind the 1st piece you made so it just barely shows behind
it.
Now repeat...
Right click duplicate..
Object...arrange..send to back..repeat til you get it to have as many
folds as you desire.
Click on one swag making it active.
Hold down the shift key and click on each of the others so all
are selected.
Right click..combine as single object.
Now you have your first swag piece.
