Your book will look like the one on the background of this page. This book was made in Photo Impact 6.

Because there are a lot of steps to this ..I recommend saving your book as you go along as a UFO..so if your program crashes you don't have to start over.. 

Open a new  image 300 x 300
Go to path tool..select the Outline drawing tool..select square..3D..width..size 9..choose a color.
Draw your square. 
Now go to Your Easy Palette..Material Gallery..Go to Bump and find Stone (the one I used) or choose one that you like...double click on it.

Go to Path Tool..shape..3D..
choose rounded rectangle. 

Draw it along the side of your frame you made and have it a little shorter in length then your frame..but not much. It should automatically draw with the material ...bump... stone ..if not then repeat that process.. as you did before.
 

Now go to Path tool again and select outline drawing tool again..select eclipse...3D..
choose a color to go along with your book..
this will be a ring along the spine of your book.
Set width at 2.. 
Make your eclipse..
then go to object..convert object type from path to image.
 

With object active ..select eraser tool..
erase out a little less than half..
you want an arch shape. 
You are going to place this along the
rounded rectangle you made.
If you need to..use the transform tool
so this half circle fits over the rounded rectangle. 
Use the transform tool to rotate it 10 degrees 
counter clockwise.

Once made..right click and duplicate it 8 times..
making nine rings..or how many you need 
to place along the spine. 
Put the ninth ring aside..you will use it later.

Now go to Path tool..shape..3D ..select the rounded rectangle..Make a long narrow rectangle for the bottom on the book. 
Again it should come out with the bump on it from previous setting..if not..repeat process. 
Go to Path Tool again..shape  and make another rounded rectangle make it verticle..make this one small. It should also have the bump material on it. 
Go to Path Tool again..rounded rectangle..
choose color of gold gradient this time. 
Make it same size as the other long rectangle. 
Make sure it also has the bump material on it.

Go to Path Tool ...Custom Shape..3D..
find ARCH 3..double click on it ..
This will be your book tab. 
Make it the color you like.
Go to edit.. rotate and flip 90 degrees left. 
Make sure it also has the bump material on it.
Now back to the Path Tool..select circle..gold gradient..Make a small one to place on your tab.
Right click on it and duplicate it. 
Drag the two circles onto the tab. 
Go to the Pick Tool .. hold down the shift key and click on the tab making it active..click on each of the two circles..then right click and merge as single object. Then right click and duplicate so you have two.

Now you need to find a picture to put on your book for the cover..
Find one you  like and open it up..Go to Dimensions and get it down in size so it will fit in the frame.. approximately around 200x200 should work. 
Right click on your picture and select copy. 
Go back to your book and right click somewhere on your image and select paste. 
While your picture is active ..go to object..arrange..send to back. 
Adjust it in the frame you made..
use the transform tool if necessary.

Now lets put the book together! 
Click on the tabs you made and place them on your book along the right edge.

Click on the gold bar you made. Go to object..arrange...send to back. 
Slide it under the frame just so it barely shows.
and looking like pages for your book.
 

Click on the other long rectangle..place it below the gold one..just touching it.

Click on the little verticle bar you made to make it active..Drag it over to the edge of your book
on the right side at the bottom....go to object..arrange..send to back..it will disappear
..now we want to bring it foreward.
.so while still active go to object again..arrange..
bring foreward..it should now be seen..
if not repeat bringing it foreward til you see it.

Next click on the last ring you saved out..
drag it to the end of the book on the left side..
along the bottom of the book..
thats it you are all done!

I like to add mine to my EP to manipulate with different colors and textures by holding down the control..shift and A key at the same time..
this activates all parts..
then right click and select group. 
Now drag it into your EP.
