Tena's Animated Lipstick Tube

For this tutorial you will need presets from 
Rosie
(thanks for these Rosie)
and the VM Natual plugin.

Open an new image 200 x 300
Go to path drawing tool-rectangle-2D
Draw a rectangle 43 W x 120 H
Border 10 depth 30
Fill with your choice.. I  used
Rosie's engraved gold preset....
and chose....the Klondike here
Right click....Duplicate


 
Now go to path drawing tool..custom shape
choose plaque 5
Border 2 depth 30
45 W x 18 H
Fill with your choice..i chose a metallic gold

Duplicate this piece twice

Go to edit, rotate and flip the 1
duplicate vertically..you just made...
you need 6 of these.

Go to path drawing tool...elipse
make an elipse with same fill as your plaques you  made.
Make the elipse...

Move your plague pieces in place as shown
The elipse  you made goes in between the tube you see on the left at the top.

Click on each of your tube parts and merge as single object..you will only have the one plaque shape still not used yet.


 
Now let's make the lipstick....
Go to custom shape..choose Arch 2
Click on material..light 3..all direct
shading phong
Border 16.. depth 30
38 W 67 H
Fill with color of your choice
right click while active .....
send to back....of your tube on the right..have it just barely 
up from behind it at this point.
Then get the other plaque that you haven't used yet and right click on it ..send to back and place behind  the lipstick.


 
Click on the tube on the left and rotate it til you get it at laying at the angle that you like ..
as shown on the left.......

If you want to add a flower to your image..
do it now.


 
Now for your text..I chose 
Black Chancery 3D..size 50

You want to place your text up high enough so that when we move the lipstick 
itself upward...we won't be messing
up our frame for the animation.
Go to the pick tool and select your text,
so that it is now active..
Now go to effects...add noise...options...
click on the options and
set the variance to 55 
and monochromatic needs to be checked.


 
 
While text is still highlighted.click on both tubes of lipstick and the lipstick itself...so those are all active....go to effects....
VM Natural..sparkle
You will need to slide the Max size and random settings around a bit on each piece 
until you get the sparkles to show up where you want them to be at. Click on on each piece when you achieve the look 
that you want.

Now click on ctrl....shift....A ..so all of your pieces are now active....
Go to web...image optimizer..save as a gif ..this is your first frame....be sure transparancy is checked..click on mask options tab..matte...set to none
Save


 

 

Once saved..to to edit ..
and select undo before add noise

Click on your lipstick and lets move it up a little bit higher now.

Highlight your text again....go to effects.
...add noise...options..this time set the variance to 65 again make sure monochromatic is checked.

Again click on the other pieces..and go 
to effects..VM Natural..and use different settings then you did before.

This is your second frame...
save as before.


 
Once again go to edit..undo before noise

Now pull the lipstick up one more time.
Then repeat the add noise to your text..setting the option to 75 this time...and repeat the VM natural once more also..again..making sure to not sure the same settings as the other two.

Save as before..this is your third 
and last frame.
Now all frames are made lets animate it!
Go to switch...select gif animator
select animation wizard...put in the size of your frames...200x 300
Select add image..find the 3 gifs that you saved earlier.
For now set the speed on 35
click next and finish.
Click on the first frame you see..right click it
choose frame properties...
set the first one to 50
Leave the second one set to 35
Click on the 3rd frame ..frame prooperites
set this one to 100
Click on preview to view your 
animated lipstick to see if you are satisfied with the settings.
If so, click back on edit..

Now go to file
optimization wizard...accept all defaults and save your image.


 
 

That's it !
